Today in Kenya, UNIFEM Executive Director Inés Alberdi launched Say NO – UNiTE to End Violence against Women. The advocacy initiative is now live at www.saynotoviolence.org— and ready to raise urgently-needed resources. Here is how: as you know, Say NO will count and showcase action on ending violence against women. Today, watchmaker OMEGA announced a US$50,000 challenge grant for the first 50,000 actions registered on Say NO! The grant will go to organizations on the ground working on ending violence against women and girls.
As a longtime supporter, we know that you will help us meet this challenge. Highlight your own actions on Say NO and encourage colleagues, friends and family to become involved, too. Thanks to all of you who have already contributed great ideas for initiatives people can start; your suggestions are highlighted on the website and will inspire others to take action.
Also, check out the brand new Say NO video spot and photos of today’s launch programme in Kenya, where Inés Alberdi visited a hospital that offers treatment and counseling to survivors of sexual violence and a high school where girls learn about such violence and ways to address it, at: www.saynotoviolence.org.
We know that with your ongoing support, Say NO – UNiTE will be a success. Thank you once again for your engagement.
